The expansion of Scorpions Baseball (Orlando, FL) continues!  Scorpions Great Lakes marks a pivotal moment for baseball in the Great Lakes & Ohio Valley Region.  This expansion offers unparalleled opportunities for the young athletes by bringing a well-structured, development-focused program that prioritizes both athletic & personal growth.  The goal is to grow the program to the high school ages as well. 

Through access to high-quality facilities around the country, competitive top-level tournament play week after week, and exposure to scouts and college coaches/recruiters, the Scorpions Great Lakes will open doors for these players to pursue collegiate and professional baseball careers. The strong emphasis on development and doing things the right way ensures that players are not only physically prepared but also mentally equipped to handle the challenges of higher levels of competition.  The Scorpions' expansion into the region brings a wealth of resources and expertise, creating a thriving baseball community where dreams can become reality. 

Scorpions Great Lakes will be under the leadership of Pete Shier.  Shier, a former pro was drafted 9th by the Baltimore Orioles & later closed out his time with the Phillies, brings a wealth of knowledge of the game and a burning desire to help young athletes develop.  Shier, named a top prospect by MLB during his 10 years, took his love for the game to the other side of the fence & began scouting with the Chicago Cubs as well as working as a Hitting & Infield Coordinator for the MLB.  Pete’s love for player development has been showcased through his time coaching & continues to be seen with this recent expansion into Scorpions Great Lakes.  Prior to wearing purple, Shier coached nationally ranked 16u & 17u teams over a six-year period, 42 of the players receiving college scholarships & 7 others being drafted in the MLB Draft.  We are excited to have him leading this new group within Scorp Nation!!
